Twenty-four days of twenty-four hour prayer in the year 2024.
King’s Cathedral has been marked by a legacy of prayer since its early beginnings. Early morning prayer, or EMP, with both personal and corporate prayer times, was established by patriarch Dan Marocco then protected and practiced by Dr. James and Pastor Colleen Marocco, and now Pastors Josh and Shannon Marocco stand guard at the helm of this prayer culture. It changes how we think as a church, shifts our focus towards the things on God’s heart, brings break-through even in the most difficult of situations and is the precursor to signs and wonders. That is just the short list.
The staff-led, two-hour, in-person shifts are not cookie-cutter sessions. There are some guided prayer times covering specific topics, yet every prayer being uniquely tailored to the needs mentioned. Pastors and Ministers bring fresh revelation to each session. Alternating live worship and recorded instrumentals serve as background accompaniment to the scripture references read and mini-messages delivered. At times the live worship becomes prophetic in nature and new sounds and lyrics are birthed. Being still and silent in His presence is sometimes the needed response. God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3) “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matt. 18:19-20). God promises to be there! God. Shows. Up.
Corporate prayer has its foundational strength in the agreement with the many, warring for topics of shared interest. The beauty of 24/24 is that there are times when personal prayer needs are collectively raised. Each person lifting up their own family, their own finances, contending for their own victories in a holy concert of prayer. Holy Spirit prompted words of wisdom and knowledge begin to pour out. One leaves hopeful, emboldened, having an expectancy for a personal miracle.
Streaming around the clock, 24/24 has been joined by thousands tuning in around the world. This activation of an army of spiritual warriors has not left their atmosphere undisturbed. The enemy is on alert, he has been served notice, of course we expect a pushback. “What then shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) “Greater is HE that is in you, than he that is in the world!” (1 John 4:4)
This 24/24 will shape your thoughts to think globally. It will enlarge your vision to pray and believe for more than you had the courage to do so before, and you will have a desire to personally level up in all aspects of your life. Join us. Stay for long as you can, go when you must. Two certainties exist: prayers you offer will have impact far beyond what you can imagine, and you will leave changed from when you first arrived.
